I have been watching some movie openings and I have taken some Screenshots of the clips that I particularly thought were appealing to our chosen genre.
In 'The Ring', I liked this shot here of the extreme close-up of this character. I would like to use this to emphasise our main characters facial expression to help show the genre 'horror'.
I like this shot because of the two main points of focus. It is self-explanitory that she is watching the T.V and she looks scared. I also like the fact that the T.V is the main focus and the characters focus is a little more blurred.

I then began to watch 'The Grudge'.
I particularly liked this first screenshot because the character that is walking is blurred and the main focus of this shot is actually behind him. He doesn't seem to notice that it is there.
And this next shot, the character looks back and the main focus of the previous shot is no longer visible. This is adds to the movie genre horror. It makes the audience question and build up suspension.
And I like this shot a little further on in the clip which we would like to use if possible. The over the shoulder shot, but from a lower angle.
